Cleethorpes pubs trial plastic glasses

Twelve pubs in Cleethorpes, Lincolnshire have agreed to use polycarbonate glasses in the evening as part of a drive to reduce violent crime.
Members of the Cleethorpes' Pubwatch clubbed together to invest in polycarbonates after regular meetings with police licensing officers and the council. It has helped contribute to a 50% decline in violent crime in the area.
Licensee of the Fiddler venue, Paul Money, said he hoped pubs and bars would continue to trial the plastic glasses at least until the end of the year.
"There has been a big slide down in violence since pubs in the area have started using all plastic," he said....
