Researchers behind efforts to reduce city centre violence are receiving an award from The Queen on Friday.
Cardiff University aimed to cut drunken crime and injuries in the city using innovative methods such as encouraging pubs and clubs to use plastic glasses.
...Research on injuries involving beer glasses led to the use of toughened glass and plastic in pubs and nightclubs.
The group said this had been linked to a 70% fall in glass assaults....
